30 November 2011

Galaxy Football School proudly announces it has become the first NSW based Youth Football Development Academy to sign a Club Partnership Agreement with West Ham United International Academy.

Galaxy Football School is a Youth Football Development Academy for players between the ages of five and thirteen based at Holy Cross College in Ryde.  Galaxy is committed to creating a pathway for aspiring professional youth footballers through all components of the game such as training, scouting, tours and much more.

It is our goal to nurture and develop elite players in alliance with the national curriculum set out by Football Federation Australia and promote elite players through the state and national representative bodies. Galaxy openly accepts its role as a secondary development program to the SAP, Skillaroos, FNSW Academy and the NSWIS which will continue to be the National Elite Pathway for football players in Australia.

This Partnership represents an incredible opportunity for Elite Youth Players in NSW to showcase their skills at next year’s annual West Ham United Academy Player Identification Camp to be run and hosted by Galaxy Football School and West Ham United International Academy under the supervision of West Ham Scout Mike Leigh. Galaxy Football School expect to announce details of the first 3 Day Player Identification Camp in the coming weeks.

Erica Matters parent of two Galaxy Academy Players Aiden & Laura said “The Galaxy team really nurture the individual talents of all their students, and their recent partnership with West Ham United Academy confirms their dedication and commitment to the long term support of our budding players.”

After holding discussions with other Premiere League based clubs it became apparent that the Philosophy held by Galaxy Football School and West Ham United Academy was one in the same.

West Ham United International Academy Partnership Development Manager, Mike Kelleher said “We are delighted to announce a partnership with the Galaxy Football School in Sydney Australia“.

Our Academy Partnership with one of the world’s best Youth Football Academies represents a huge step forward for all Galaxy Academy Players who wish to continue their development at an elite level.

Previous West Ham Academy graduates included names like; Current England Captain John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Glen Johnson, Jermain Defoe, Michael Carrick, Anton Ferdinand, and Australian Under 17’s International Dylan Tombides.

Galaxy Football School enthusiastically acknowledge their Partnership with West Ham United Academy as a key milestone in Youth Football Development.
